This book investigates the theory of locality within the framework of minimalism, with a special focus on restructuring distance learning accounting and other related phenomena that exhibit an apparent violation of the strictly local conditions. It purposes an important modification of economy conditions that renders the analysis of long-distance movement of restructuring compatible with the standard minimal link condition. The theory of economy put forth in this book not only provides a principled account for the restructuring phenomena, but also has numerous important implications for the general theory of derivational economy.
